AES Corp. has entered into two renewable energy power buy agreements (PPA) with Amazon. As a part of the agreements, AES will ship renewable energy within the CAISO (California Independent System Operator) market and supply it from a mixed 450 MW of solar and 225 MW, 4-hour length battery energy storage from its portfolio of tasks.
AES has contracted with Fluence to produce energy storage options for one of many tasks.
These tasks assist Amazon keep on path to power its international operations with 100% renewable energy by 2025 – 5 years forward of its unique 2030 goal – and attain internet zero carbon by 2040.
