The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW) permitted two Alliant Energy battery energy storage tasks totaling 175 MW.
The PSCW approval clears the best way for development to start on the 100 MW Grant County Battery Project and 75 MW Wood County Battery Project. They will probably be positioned alongside the corporate’s Grant County and Wood County solar websites. The integration of those battery techniques with Alliant Energy’s utility-scale solar websites will increase buyer entry to protected, dependable energy even when the solar isn’t out.

Alliant Energy expects to start development on each battery tasks in early 2024. The Wood County venture within the city of Saratoga is anticipated to be operational by the top of 2024 whereas the Grant County venture within the city of Potosi is anticipated to be operational by mid-2025. They can have the capability to power over 80,000 properties for 4 hours and 100,000 properties for 4 hours, respectively.
