Conger Solar Systems to Design Solar Canopies for Project Nexus

A Conger solar system constructed over a canal

Conger Solar Systems says it’s designing and engineering the solar panel canopies that might be used to cowl varied sections of Turlock Irrigation District’s canals for Project Nexus in California.

Conger’s buildings had been commissioned by Project Nexus managers Solar AquaGrid and the Turlock Irrigation District primarily based on the agency’s profitable solar-over-canal deployments in India.

Conger’s designs are well-suited for overlaying slender and wide-span canals and the challenges posed by constructing over present utility corridors whereas saving open land for different functions within the course of.

“After teaching an environmental design course with Buckminster Fuller at John Denver’s Windstar Foundation, I realized that the inherent efficiency of cable structures, combined with solar energy was an embodiment of Bucky’s core principles of sustainability, renewable energy, and doing more with less,” says Steven Conger, CTO/Chairman, Conger Solar Systems.

Once design ideas had been patented, Conger Solar Systems designed and constructed its first tensioned cable solar construction over a parking zone in Los Angeles in 2011. Several tasks adopted, primarily in India, paving the way in which to the Punjab, India solar-over-canal mission Conger Solar Systems designed in 2017.
