DESS Incorporates JUWI Pike Solar Venture into Portfolio

Duke Energy Sustainable Solutions (DESS) has acquired Pike Solar, a brand new solar power plant being constructed to serve prospects of Colorado Springs Utilities. DESS acquired the solar challenge from world solar power developer JUWI Inc.

Containing greater than 414,000 solar panels on about 1,310 acres simply exterior town limits of Colorado Springs, Colo., Pike Solar will present 175 MW of electrical energy to Colorado Springs Utilities prospects. That is sufficient electrical energy to power roughly 46,300 properties.

Under a 17-year settlement, Colorado Springs Utilities will buy the electrical energy Pike Solar generates. Under the phrases of the acquisition, JUWI is chargeable for the engineering, procurement and development of the challenge. The solar modules are being procured by DESS.

JUWI and DESS will every have operation and upkeep tasks. With this addition, DESS has three solar tasks in Colorado totaling 248 megawatts.

The solar plant is below development with present actions centered on civil work and racking set up, and is scheduled to realize business operation in late 2023.
