DOE In search of Business Suggestions on Solar Manufacturing Workforce Questions

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO) has issued a request for data (RFI) looking for suggestions concerning the challenges and alternatives related to scaling the home solar manufacturing workforce.

SETO is requesting enter from business, academia, analysis laboratories, authorities businesses and different stakeholders on job roles related to working U.S.-based manufacturing services concerned within the manufacturing of:

  • photovoltaic (PV) modules (together with crystalline silicon and thin-film)
  • semiconductor supplies and elements (e.g., silicon metallic, polysilicon, ingots, wafers, cells)
  • supplies used to assemble PV modules (e.g., solar glass, frames, encapsulants, backsheets, and so on.)
  • different tools related to PV methods (e.g., inverters, power optimizers, racking, trackers)

SETO says the objective the RFI is to higher perceive the anticipated amount, high quality and accessibility of solar manufacturing roles, the required ability units for these roles, any limitations more likely to impression assembly the demand for certified labor and potential options for overcoming these limitations.

Responses to the RFI should be submitted electronically to solarworkforce@ee.doe.gov no later than 5 p.m. ET on June 2.
