Duke Energy Sustainable Solutions, a nonregulated business model of Duke Energy, has began development of the 120 MW Jackpot Solar venture in Twin Falls County, Idaho. This is the group’s first utility-scale renewable energy venture within the state, and as soon as full, it is going to be the most important solar facility in operation in Idaho.
Jackpot Solar, which is anticipated to realize business operation by the tip of 2022, will present energy to Idaho Power by way of a 20-year power buy settlement.
Idaho Power is working towards its Clean Today, Cleaner Tomorrow purpose of offering 100% clear energy by 2045. When the corporate buys licensed renewable energy, it sells the related renewable energy credit (RECs) to offset power provide prices and to maintain buyer costs low.

Swinerton Renewable Energy is doing the engineering and development for the venture, which will likely be positioned on 952 rural acres south of town of Twin Falls. Duke Energy Sustainable Solutions will personal and function the venture.
The Duke Energy Foundation awarded a $15,000 grant to the Shoshone Basin Rangeland Fire Protection Association to assist the group’s efforts to reinforce the protection of the residents in rural areas of Twin Falls County, Idaho.
