EDF Renewables North America has secured two agreements with Indiana Michigan Power (I&M), a subsidiary of American Electric Power (AEP), so as to add 554 MWdc (425 MWac) of solar energy to its clear energy combine.
I&M will buy the output from Sculpin Solar, totaling 236 MWdc (180 MWac), beneath a 30-year power buy settlement (PPA). The firm additionally will buy 100% of the fairness pursuits in Lake Trout Solar, totaling 318 MWdc (245 MWac), following completion of development actions beneath a purchase order and sale settlement (PSA).
“Indiana and its farmers are taking the lead to decarbonize the energy sector, while also revitalizing the local economy with jobs, vendor contracts, taxes, and lease payments,” stated Eric Spigelman, senior director of origination and power advertising and marketing at EDF Renewables. “We are excited to bring EDF Renewables first solar projects to Indiana and to support I&M as it delivers long-term price stability, stimulates economic growth, and reduces emissions.”
Combined, these two tasks are anticipated to generate roughly 880,000 MWh of unpolluted energy yearly.
