Cape and Vineyard Electric Cooperative (CVEC) partnered with Greenskies Clean Focus, a nationwide chief in renewable energy options, to put in a 231.77 kW solar energy system at Oak Bluffs Elementary School in Massachusetts. Annually, the solar array of 600 PV panels can generate over 265,000 kWh of unpolluted energy, offsetting greater than 414,000 kilos of carbon dioxide (CO2).
CVEC is a public cooperative established in 2007, comprised of 25 member cities and counties on the Cape and Martha’s Vineyard, with 60 solar photovoltaic (PV) tasks (58 MW) accomplished or below contract since 2013. They assist the event of renewable energy sources to assist MA member communities obtain vital electrical value financial savings.
This venture, a part of CVEC’s Round 5 PV/Storage Initiative RFP, features a Tesla 58 kW/232 kWh energy storage system unit. This is CVEC’s first solar PV venture that features battery storage. “Where resiliency is so important to this region’s communities, such as Oak Bluffs, we know that it is an important addition to our member’s renewable energy portfolio,” mentioned CVEC’s Executive Director Maria Marasco.
“Greenskies is excited to continue our relationship with CVEC and support coastal communities like Oak Bluffs with clean, renewable energy,” mentioned Stanley Chin, President and CEO of Greenskies. “Solar helps reduce environmental impact by decreasing the carbon footprint associated with energy needs.”
Greenskies was chosen to develop, design, finance, assemble, personal, function, and keep the system for a 20-year time period. This venture marks the eleventh collaboration between CVEC and Greenskies during the last eight years.
Have you checked out our YouTube web page?
We have a ton video interviews and extra content material on our YouTube web page. Recently we debuted Power Forward! — a collaboration with BayWa r.e. to debate increased degree trade matters in addition to greatest practices / traits for operating a solar enterprise at this time.
Our longer operating facet venture is The Pitch — through which we have now awkward discussions with solar producers and suppliers about their new know-how and concepts in order that you do not have to. We’ve discusses the whole lot from residential rail-less deck attaching and home solar financing to large-scale energy storage worth stacking and utility-driven new home solar + storage microgrids.
We additionally put up our Project of the Year bulletins there! Interviews with this 12 months’s winners can be up beginning the week of Nov. 8. Head there and subscribe at this time to remain on prime of all this additional stuff.
