American Battery Factory Inc. (ABF) is alleged to be creating a U.S.-based community of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) cell giga-factories, and this week its first offtake settlement was introduced with Lion Energy. ABF will ship 18 GWh of LFP battery cells — high-capacity prismatic cells providing 50 and 300 Ah outputs designed for a spread of options, together with transportable solar mills together with residential, industrial and utility grid-level lithium battery-based energy storage programs.

ABF will manufacture cells for Lion Energy and different pack integrators. Lion Energy will initially obtain 1.2 GWh of cells yearly, rising to six GWh over a five-year interval.
